"U.S. travelers haven't seen house-broken airline ticket stimulate charges since November of 2008, when legacy airlines folded these surcharges into the profane airfare as the toll of oil dropped dramatically from at daybreak summer highs," FareCompare CEO Rick Seaney said in a note published on Tuesday. Noting that around oil prices are topping $80 per barrel, "surcharges are opening to energetic a comeback," he said.
