Krabi Joins Phuket's Lower Air Fares Push - Phuket Wan
by Alan Morison and Chutima Sidasathian
@Master Jim....International airfares are for the most part written in NUCS (Unallied Portion of Currency), NUCS are based on the US dollar. So,a year ago a $1000 airfare would have netted Thai Air approx 36,000 baht, today they will only get 31,500 baht, but of direction today that $1000 airfare is being discounted down to $950, $900, $850 or even let. Thai Air have to accord those international fares to keep their traveller numbers. That's why they've bumped up the fares on the less competitive residential routes. Its the talent of the Thai baht that's caused the stew.

See http://www.travelbargainsites.com for a catalogue raisonn of great, cheap travel sites. My site compares all the airlines for the cheapest provisions. Also, you can take that fare and haggle with Priceline or Hotwire to get an even lower fare.
