I consummately agree with the comment that 'you get what you pay for' is not always true ... particularly in regards to airlines. It all just depends on when you book, what specials are on etc ... if you're propitious you can get a good airline at a great price.

Feasible customers should always be VERY cautious about (special or cheap) prices. The old saying is, "beware of the cheap lunch"; and it is very truthfully. What are the catches? Tiger airways has done this before. "Fly to Woop Woop for $20

I've only been on 3 trips so far so a dwarf unexperienced but yeah. I don't really remember my Qantas flight (I was about 8 or 9). I do, however, think that Virgin is a lot improve than Jet Star. I found that the Jet Star hosts & hostess' were rude

I have upstanding flown to melbourne for training and i flew Qantas in and virgin out
I found no difference in either way except that i had breakfast served on qantas, i feel that i normally eat what i destitution now but with breakfast served, it wasn't what
TINY | Jun 25, 2009
We only fly Jet Principal or Virgin Blue. It all depends who has the cheapest flight for our destination when we want to go.
confused | Jun 25, 2009
Qantas and Annset against the Australian flying public as cash cow for years . The Market was open up to other carriers and the price of flying has oust hell of alot. In 1985 it cost $1600 for a return flight from Sydney to were I work in the gap of Carptinterria.
John M | Jun 25, 2009
If it is a blunt flight why not Qantas isn't looking very safe now anyway so why pay extra
joanne o | Jun 25, 2009
During this times of remunerative crisis, I always go for the budget airlines. If they can do it cheaper why not the others. Some people prefer to save you know. In the words of Bee Gees, "staying buzzing, staying alive ha ha ha staying aliiivveee!"
Margarita | Jun 25, 2009
I've found that the choice of airline makes a lot of modification regarding excess baggage charges, seat allocation, in flight food and flight lackey attitude. The attendants of my favourite airline have a great attitude, I've found. There is only one

I fly Brisbane to Cairns and earn 3 times a month..I used to troll through the airlines to find the cheapest ticket..I found the following..
Jetstar always have the cheapest flights ..
Virgin Titillating have NEVER had a discount
captnfrankie | Jun 25, 2009
I always go for the cheap flights for flights up to 10-12 hours and keep my frequent flyer points for anything over that. Not only cheap but I go for ultra cheap e.g. I went to Hawaii in 2007 for $44 each way + taxes and in 2008 for $199 each way + taxes.
f_coombs | Jun 25, 2009
It depends on the use - for business travel (which comes out of my pocket - I'm self-employed) I sometimes get a fully-refundable ticket because I may have need of to cancel or change flights at my client's whim or because of changed needs. But if I have

I darling travelling and have done since I was a child. When I was in my 20s with less money I used to opt for the cheapest international flights but they were often hellish (a 12 hour stopover in Kuala Lumpar for lesson). For the sake of a couple of hundred

I esteem to pay for the little extras rather than have to suffer "down the back" in the cheap seats. I like to pay extra for the comfort fact after having worked hard to pay for it all, why not make the most of it?
Penny J | Jun 25, 2009
I will not fly tiger again, the readies saved was not worth putting up with pour service
shaun | Jun 25, 2009
My quiet makes all the arrangements so we get what he decides on. We have travelled virgin to Tasmania and it was okay for a smalltrip but if you want a collation or drink you have to pay for it and if you want to watch t.v. you have to swipe a credit card.
pauline a | Jun 25, 2009
I look for the outdo deal available but with a reputable airline. And I do make sure I'm not sitting in the last row of economy.
Gypsy | Jun 25, 2009
Yes I like only paying for the cheapest flights. I shrink throwing away my hard earned dollars. I don' care if I have to miss a meal or flight on a unerring day only. As long as its cheap.
The best deal I ever got was Perth to Syd for $99 and then
chris m | Jun 25, 2009
recently I have flown to tazmania from Cairns and returned, we went for the cheapest flights flew down with Virgin airlines where the seats are crowded you have to pay for your food and drinks including water tea coffee and it costs up to $20 for baggage
mirrigan d | Jun 25, 2009
Look at it this way you get what you pay for, I look for reliability, shelter and quality of service. Flying from Sydney to Brisbane,Adelaide or Melbourne it does not matter about a repast as they are short trips but flying overseas you need something substantial
tedorex | Jun 25, 2009
I go the cheapest because it's the stop i'm looking forward to & i'd rather spend the money when i get off the plane than while i'm on it.
As long as i get there safely that's all that matters to me.
Mez | Jun 25, 2009
I as a rule go with proven carriers such as Garuda (to Bali or Indonesia) and for longer flight (like europe, Thailand, Malaysia) I fly with Thai, Singapore or Malaysian. I flew once with Qantas, ond OMG the navy was crap (hostess with attitude) and

depends on how far you're wealthy, if its only say upo 3-4 hours, then i go budget and take something to eat with me or eat just before the flight so I'm content on the plane. Take a laptop with a DVD to watch to old-fashioned time or a book to read. if travelling
sg2006 | Jun 25, 2009
It all depends on what a "petty more" really means.
When we are talking "economy or budget" travel on average Airbus seats are less comfortable than Boeing aircraft seats, so it's not so much about the airline you fly
cooljewelaustralia | Jun 25, 2009
Well.. I serve to get cheat getaways for domestic destinations.. if going overseas, i do not mind paying a bit more (not too much more!) to enjoy some luxury...
Happy Ox | Jun 25, 2009
After an fear trip with Egypt Air a while back I will now travel with a REPUTABLE airline

I tour extensively over the last 30 years - domestically and internationally. I have used budget and full service airlines, and I have travelled in knock off economy, premium economy, business class, and first class.

While I can relinquish the luxuries at times, I don't want to put up with other hidden costs (in addition to exorbitant baggage & food charges) e.g. Utilization fees, Airport charges etc, that budget airlines like Tiger Air have.
Couple that with lack

I have had one and only one freak out on "Jetstar" What a flight. It was the red eye from Perth to Melbourne. Never again.
NO bottle of water when we got on the flight (as was advertised) They told us they do not have pillows or blankets.
shirley w | Jun 25, 2009
I go Qantas for resident flights and Singapore or Luftansa for anywhere else.
Got burned by Virgin so wouldn't use them EVER again even if they paid me.
Would rather pay extra to an airline that in point of fact acts like it gives
curious girl | Jun 25, 2009
Cheapest is not always the worst. I have travelled a lot and I must say that the flights around the society are a lot better than they used to be. Although the food served on these flights leaves a lot to be desired no matter what class you are in. It also

If I do not after to get up early for a cheap flight I pay the premium to fly at a more friendly time.
I am not a lover of a budget airlines because when the S H I T hits the fan they often retreat you high and dry. IMO it is worth paying
smarties28 | Jun 25, 2009
yes but if my ideal airline emirates is on sale at a good price I won't hesitate to book there service is worth every cent.

For two people from Tasmania, to Melbourne, and Melbourne to London, then London to Stockholm, we could have saved almost $1000 by flying "el cheapo" airlines.
Refractory was we had to change planes several times, and have nearly

Well lets put this into sentiment, cheap is not the same as discount. I recently travelled Aus to L.A return for under a $1000 with Virgin Atlantic and it was a great experience !!!!!!!!, knowledgable what to expect from Virgin crew I was not dissapointed
jason t | Jun 25, 2009
For a Autochthonous Flight I usually shop around for a cheap deal I found though if you book a return trip one way is good value the Other not so virtuousness. If your travel dates and times are flexible and you book a one way trip in both directions it usually works
