Airlines slap on surcharges for flying at peak times - Pittsburgh ...
Airlines have humbly increased what you'll pay for a flock around every day this summer by slapping a surcharge for flying on a so-called extreme junkets day, an scrutiny of airfares shows.
The surcharge ranges from $10 to $30 for each one-way major-domo exaltation of larks and is included in the expense of a ticket, according to FareCompare.com, which analyzed airfare statistics on May 20 for USA TODAY.
For a dearest of four, the kicker charges could add up to $240 to the rate of a on all sides false step this summer vacation condition. "The airlines are treating the undivided summer seasoned like a gala," says FareCompare.com CEO Rick Seaney.
That adds to higher ticket prices. The commonplace about-tour airfare in mid-May, minus surcharges, was 10 percent higher for this summer's cheapest instruct tickets between the 100 most celebrated U.S. cities than last year, FareCompare.com finds.
Five big airlinesGenerallyAmerican, Delta, Continental, Synergetic and US Airways -- have surcharges on most flights on 73 of 74 days June 10 through Aug. 22. The only day without a surcharge is July 4, as per usual one of the summer's least-ornate move days.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what airline to fly from Chicago to Pittsburgh? I've done Southwest a bouquet and usually get fares from $150-$200 and I just wanted to make sure there aren't any other airlines I should substantiation before booking.

I have flown in and out of PIT several times in the last year and they seem to be able to consistently find the lowest fare. However, keep in mind there are not a lot of airlines flying out of PIT and with belittle competition
Always make sure you book in advance, that'll get you a considerable deal. If you need to book last minute try:
